Learn the history of conservation in America. Discover the importance of worldwide environmental history for today's conservation problems and study the development of conservation ethics and issues. Read, discuss and report on the classic books of conservation literature. Trace the evolution of conservation concepts from Henry David Thoreau and George Perkins Marsh through John Wesley Powell and John Muir to Rachel Carson and E.O. Wilson. Explore the relationships between attitudes toward natureand environmental action.
