Course overview

Explore landscape plants and how to use them. Utilizing the resources of the National Arboretum, participants hold laboratory and field sessions to examine the seasonal value of selected trees, shrubs, vines and ground covers, identifying their characteristics and general cultural requirements. The class also covers broadleaf evergreens, berried trees and shrubs, trees for autumn coloration and plants for espalier.This course is part of the Certificate of Accomplishment in Horticulture and the Certificate of Accomplishment in Landscape Design.
