Graduate School USA’s IVLP Team Welcomes "Access to Justice" Project Participants
On May 16, Graduate School USA’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) team welcomes four foreign professionals from Georgia who will travel under the auspices of the U.S. Department of State. They will embark on a three-week professional exchange program, “Access to Justice for Vulnerable Populations,” with a stay in Washington, DC, followed by travel to New Orleans, Denver, Concord, and Boston.
One of the main objectives of this project is to examine successful examples of legal aid alliances devoted to ensuring the delivery of quality legal services to those who cannot afford counsel in specific areas of the law. The group will meet with representatives from various NGOs, law firms, state courts, and legal commissions to discuss and exchange best practices regarding pro bono legal services, access to justice for underserved communities, disability rights advocacy, and government support for victims of crimes.
