Posted on May 18, 2017
“Graduate School USA’s International Institute is working with the U.S. Department of State to implement an IVLP project for the country of Venezuela called “Transparency and Accountability in Government.”
This project will explore the United States’ commitment to transparency, ethics, and accountability at all levels of government. Participants will examine the methods employed by the public sector to prevent corruption, encourage ethical leadership and transparency, and ensure accountability and responsibility to the public. They will explore the critical role that NGOs, advocacy groups, and the media play as watchdogs and investigate how social media experts monitor governance.
Participants will also look at whistleblower legislation and protections, as well as the impact of the Freedom of Information Act. This project opened on May 15th here in Washington and will conclude in New Orleans, LA on June 3rd.”
