This complimentary full-day, practice-oriented forum offers moderated discussions, presentations, and interviews that address a wide range of human rights and humanitarian crises challenges around the globe. The event is an outgrowth of the 2019 ASPA Annual Conference theme and aims to bring together practitioners and applied academics to help illuminate these challenges and to illustrate cases from across the global community of practice. Given the urgent need for workable solutions that bring all segments of society together, this year’s emphasis is placed on practices that help government officials capitalize on assets and synergies often lacking in a robust response. The forum has been offered annually by ASPA’s Section for Public Management Practice (SPMP), and this year is co-sponsored by ASPA’s International Chapter, the Section for Emergency & Crisis Management, and Graduate School USA.
The interactive format offers:
• Moderated presentations and interviews, with subject matter experts sharing case studies and related experiences;
• Best practice solutions and exchange of ideas between participants and speakers;
• Agenda-building opportunities to raise practice-oriented awareness within the professional public management community worldwide;
• Social time for networking and refining plans to attend other practice-oriented sessions in the remainder of the 2019 ASPA conference.
