Description

This week-long course will introduce you to areas of financial management beyond your current daily responsibilities. The field of Defense financial management is both demanding and complex, covering a multitude if interrelated disciplines and informed by an elaborate body of fiscal law. As the DoD continues to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial management operations, it is increasingly important that the entire financial management workforce understands the context and contributions of members of each career field. When each team member comprehends the big picture, FM operations become more cohesive. This course will help you gain this comprehension while introducing you to the competencies that must be mastered to earn the prestigious Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) credential.

Who Should Attend?

Civilian or military members of the Department of Defense, U.S. Coast Guard, or employees of Defense contractors and suppliers who need a big picture understanding of Defense financial management and those who are planning to take the CDFM examinations. Course Goals

• Provide students with a comprehensive level of knowledge and training regarding essential Office of Management and Budget and DoD policy and procedures, as well as applicable legislative statues, across all Defense financial management competency areas.
• Enable students to apply their knowledge and training toward meeting situational and analytical requirements in support of the mission of the DoD and other related organizations.
• Provide instruction in all the competencies covered in the CDFM examinations.
