## Overview

This introductory course provides foundational knowledge, tools, and techniques for building the Agile discipline. By simulating the most popular of the Agile methodologies, participants use Agile techniques to plan, track, and monitor Agile projects.

- Apply a scrum project management framework.

## Prerequisites

Basic project management knowledge and organizational skills are recommended, but not necessary.

## Curriculum

#### Module 1: What is Agile Project Management?

- Define Agile and compare it with traditional project management approaches.
- Discuss the benefits of Agile for managing change and delivering customer value.
- Explore the history and origins of Agile methodologies.

#### Module 2: Agile Methodologies

- Overview of key Agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and Extreme Programming (XP).
- Compare methodologies based on structure, roles, and delivery processes.
- Identify how to select an Agile method based on project needs and team dynamics.

#### Module 3: Scrum Framework

- Learn the structure and roles of the Scrum team: Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Development Team.
- Understand Scrum artifacts including the Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, and Increment.
- Explore Scrum events such as Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.

#### Module 4: Agile Planning and Estimating

- Learn how Agile teams estimate work using story points and velocity.
- Understand user stories, epics, and themes in Agile planning.
- Explore tools and techniques for release and iteration planning.

#### Module 5: Agile Execution and Monitoring

- Monitor Agile projects using burndown charts, task boards, and daily standups.
- Ensure transparency and adaptability through constant feedback and team collaboration.
- Manage team performance and maintain quality through continuous integration and testing.

#### Module 6: Agile and the Organization

- Understand organizational support for Agile implementation and cultural transformation.
- Examine scaling frameworks like SAFe, LeSS, and Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD).
- Explore challenges and success factors for adopting Agile in complex environments.
