Navigating Stress and Conflict in the Virtual Workplace

Description:

This half-day course provides you with a fundamental understanding about stress, its biological roots and its positive and negative impact on your overall well-being and effectiveness at work. During this half-day workshop, you will learn the difference between the survival value of our innate response to stress and how chronic (prolonged) stress often results in serious physical and psychological illnesses. You will learn why mindfulness is an effective antidote to the negative consequences of chronic stress and how a simple, routine mindfulness practice can improve your physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. You will learn about the link between stress and conflict and how the four competencies of Emotional Intelligence are integral to stress reduction, more effective conflict resolution, and the growth of personal resilience. You will experience the benefit of mindfulness and other tools of stress management through focused lectures and short relevant videos, supported by real-time exercises of brief mindfulness practices, personal self-reflections, and small group interactions. Armed with new insights and practical skills you will become a more effective stress and conflict navigator.
