## Overview

Our Project Scope, Quality & Risk Management course examines the relationships between goal setting, project scope, and project quality, while experientially guiding participants to identify and manage project risks throughout the lifecycle of the project. In this highly interactive course, participants will learn how to collect and write project requirements, organize and manage project scope and quality against measurable goals, as well as continually identify, analyze, and respond to project risks.

## What you'll learn

- Identify elements of the standard PMI project management framework.
- Describe the relationship between project scope, project quality, and project risk management processes throughout a project lifecycle.
- Create scope, quality, and risk management deliverables, including requirements statement, work breakdown structure, quality metrics, change request, and risk register.

## Curriculum

#### Module 1: A Refresher: The Standard Project Management Framework

- Summarize the 10 knowledge areas and 5 process groups in the standard PMI project management framework, based on the PMBOK® Guide 6th Edition.
- Identify project scope, quality, and risk management processes within that framework.

#### Module 2: Project Initiation and Project Scope, Quality, and Risk

- Understand the relationship between project initiation and project scope, quality, and risk management processes.
- Describe the elements of a business requirements statement.
- Identify outputs of project initiation processes that affect project scope, quality, and risk.

#### Module 3: Scope, Quality, and Risk Planning

- Identify techniques for collecting project requirements and when to use them.
- Create a high-level project scope statement.
- Distinguish between project scope and project quality descriptions.
- Write functional requirements with quality metrics.
- Create a work breakdown structure.
- Identify and analyze project risks.
- Develop responses to scope and quality risks.

#### Module 4: What Happens after Planning to Project Scope, Quality and Risk?

- Identify where Validate Scope, Control Scope, and Implement Risk Responses fit within the project lifecycle.
- Distinguish between quality assurance and quality control.
- Differentiate verified deliverables from accepted deliverables and relate them to quality control and scope validation.
- Determine whether project requirements and quality metrics have been met.
- Describe methods for maintaining project control, including project reviews and change control boards.
- Recognize the common elements of a project change request.
- Create a project change request to implement risk responses.
