## Overview

Formerly titled: Using HR Analytics.

Learn what HR data analysis is and how it will help you, as an HR practitioner, help your agency accomplish its mission and goals. Learn what data to collect and how to assess and analyze that data to gain meaningful insights that clarify decision points and make evidence-based decisions that support business and mission strategies. Gain skill in clearly and effectively presenting data to agency decision makers so that they can both understand and use your analysis. Focus on leveraging data to improve your agency’s hiring practices, workforce composition, attrition rate, succession planning, and accountability for mission accomplishment.

- Definition of HR analytics and its role in federal human capital management.
- The importance of HR analysis and the factors driving its adoption in federal HR management.
- How to think like an economist when interpreting HR data to make evidence-based decisions.
- What data HR practitioners need and where to collect it for meaningful insights.

#### Module 2: Consulting with Decision Makers Using HR Analysis

- Overview of HR consulting skills essential for providing data-driven recommendations to decision-makers.
- Using the consulting model to effectively communicate HR analysis and insights to managers.
- Understanding HR consulting competencies and addressing challenges faced in consulting engagements.

#### Module 3: HR Data Sources

- Identifying types and sources of HR data necessary for conducting HR analysis in federal agencies.
- Understanding how different data sources like the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) and OPM Fedscope can be used in HR analysis.
- Exploring both quantitative and qualitative data to draw actionable insights for workforce planning and management.

- Utilizing HR analytics to solve complex organizational problems by understanding the system and processes.
- How to leverage HR analytics to improve decision-making in workforce management and organizational performance.

### Adrianna Harden — Instructor

Adrianna is a retired federal Human Resources (HR) Senior Leader who dedicated her civil service career serving America’s veterans. She retired after spending over 32 years in HR, working at Veteran Affairs Headquarters, Regional Office, and Field facilities. She passionately shares her wealth of HR knowledge to all who are interested. She loves learning and intentionally commits to learning “something new” every day. In addition to her extensive HR experience, she has a Master’s degree in Management Technology and HRM. She is certified as a Senior HR Professional with the Society of Human Resources Management organization.
