## Overview

Federal personnel actions are the foundation of every employee's official record, and accuracy matters. This course walks you through the complete lifecycle of a personnel action — from initiating a request on the SF-52 to documenting it on the SF-50. You will learn the legal and regulatory framework behind personnel processing, including 5 U.S.C. § 2951 and Civil Service Rule IX. Working through realistic scenarios and exercises, you will practice selecting the correct Nature of Action (NOA) codes, legal authority codes, and remarks codes for common action types such as accessions, separations, pay changes, and position changes. The course also covers effective date rules, Official Personnel Folder (OPF) documentation requirements, and the ten most common processing errors and how to avoid them.
