## Overview

### Build Your Portfolio

To land work, you need both coding experience and a portfolio to present to potential employers or clients. In this class, you’ll learn to take a website design and code it yourself, with step-by-step guidance from your instructor.

### Learn Git & GitHub

Git records the changes you make to files, creating a history you can revisit and roll back to earlier versions if needed. It also streamlines collaboration by merging updates from multiple people into one shared source. It’s an essential tool for any developer.

While Git can feel intimidating—especially since many people use it from the command line—we’ll show you how to work with Git directly inside Visual Studio Code (a popular free code editor). This approach makes Git far more approachable and user-friendly.

We’ll break down Git and walk you through the common workflows you’ll use. You’ll learn the key Git features that will have you up and running quickly.

### Emmet & Visual Studio Code Tips

Want to code faster and more efficiently? If you’re not taking advantage of Emmet (shortcut coding) and Visual Studio Code’s time-saving keystrokes and features, you’re missing out. These tools dramatically speed up coding with less typing—every web developer should know them. We’ll show you exactly how to supercharge your workflow.
