Posted on Jun 13, 2016
On June 6, twelve Brazilian professionals embarked on a two-week professional exchange program to study renewable energy practices, particularly solar and wind energy. They traveled to Washington, DC; New York, NY; and Denver, CO. The main goal of the project was to facilitate efforts among Brazilian industry leaders, regulators, and policymakers to accelerate Brazil’s planned diversification into power sources other than fossil fuels and hydroelectric. The group will meet with representatives from American regulatory bodies, energy-focused laboratories, and NGOs.
Between June 25 and July 6, seven English language professors from the Centro Venezolano Americano del Zulia will visit Washington, DC; Seattle, WA; and Des Moines, IA as part of the “American Culture and TEFL Education” project. In Venezuela, the center fosters a welcoming environment where visitors and students can connect and learn about the United States. The “American Culture” project will showcase the variation and distribution of the US English language and enhance the participants’ understanding of American culture and history.
