Home / TOC 2018 Annual Institute Conference at the Founders Inn | Recap
Posted on May 01, 2018
Graduate School USA would like to thank the Training Officers Consortium (TOC) for inviting us to their 2018 Annual Institute at the Founders Inn in Virginia Beach, VA from April 22 through April 25, 2018.
The theme for this year was S.M.I.L.E. (Succeed, Motivate, Inspire, Lead, and Empower) and our staff participated in several skill-building workshops and seminars over the three-day period. Natalya Bah, one of Graduate School USA’s premier Leadership Development instructors, conducted a session on how to create and implement “Engagement Strategies for Government Leaders.”
Graduate School USA Instructor, Natalya Bah at TOC:
TOC participants had the opportunity to engage in some fun trivia by spinning the “Wheel of Training”.

One of the highlights of the week was listening to Al Tyree, Vice President of Business Relations & Learning Solutions, Graduate School USA, share his personal journey on how the TOC community impacted his life during his 27 years of being a distinguished member. The session was entitled, “A TOC Journey: Learning Happily Ever After.”
During his presentation, Al emphasized the importance of life long learning and how transferable skills like leadership, time management and communication can be learned from a community of practice (COP), like the Training Officers Consortium (TOC).
VP of Business Relations & Learning Solutions, Al Tyree:
By the end of the conference and after many conversations on the topics mentioned above, it was apparent to the TOC community that Graduate School USA provided this year’s attendees with great insights on how to solve the problems that are keeping them up late at night.
If you are not a member of the TOC community, we highly encourage you to join so you can participate in the high level conversations around the training and development problems and solutions.
Client Relations Representative, Shawnree Baker:
We had an amazing time at the 2018 TOC conference and we look forward to attending again next year.
