Attendance Policy
Successful completion of any Graduate School USA course or program requires attendance and active participation in at least 80% of scheduled instructional time, regardless of program length. The 80% threshold is calculated on total scheduled contact hours, so partial-day absences count toward total attendance time.
Where a private contract or a certifying body sets a higher threshold for a specific program, that higher threshold applies and will be stated in the contract description.
Attendance below 80% means the participant does not receive a certificate of completion; a participant who falls below the 80% threshold should contact the GSUSA Customer Service Department as early as possible to discuss transferring to a future session.
For programs offered for CPE, credit is awarded for the sessions attended. Attendance is verified by the instructor or by monitored engagement checks; participant self-certification alone is not sufficient. Live sessions require full-session attendance for the hours claimed.
Consecutive absences. A participant absent for two consecutive scheduled sessions without approved notice is withdrawn and must re-enroll in a future offering. Withdrawal is effective the last date of documented attendance or academic engagement.
Participant Substitutions, Withdrawals, and Refunds
Graduate School USA (GSUSA) will provide a complete refund if a student cancels enrollment and requests a refund in writing at least fourteen calendar (14) days prior to the start of the class. If a student cancels thirteen calendar (13) days or less prior to the class start date, GSUSA will allow the student to enroll in a future session of the scheduled class or transfer to another GSUSA course. (If the future session or new course has a higher tuition, the student will be responsible for the difference in cost.) If a student cancels a class less than thirteen calendar (13) days prior to the first day of that class, does not attend the class, or does not transfer to a future session or another course, an administrative fee of $50.00 will be assessed to the student’s account and will be due. Any amounts paid in excess of the $50.00 fee will be refunded to the student. Students who miss part or all of class may retake the course at no additional cost under the retake policy, and no refund will be due or issued.
Please allow up to 7 days for a refund to be processed.
Any refund must be requested within six (6) months of the original payment date, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
Self-Paced Courses
Once a student has accessed any portion of a self-paced course, tuition is deemed fully earned and non-refundable, except as required by applicable law.
To qualify for a refund:
- no lessons may have been accessed;
- all books and materials must have been returned to, and received by, GSUSA in their original condition if the course materials were included as part of the tuition;
- any refund request must be within 30 days of the original order date
