When conflict breaks out on a team, most managers either step in and fix it or step back and hope it resolves itself. Both feel reasonable in the moment, and both tend to bring the same conflict back, often bigger, while the tension spills into meetings, decisions, and morale. This half-day session teaches a third option: facilitating. Drawing on ADR Vantage's 30-plus years of mediation practice, it distills the skills professional mediators rely on into moves any manager can use: treating conflict as useful information, listening so employees feel heard, asking questions that surface the interests underneath stated positions, and guiding people toward agreements that hold.
Participants practice each skill as it is taught, work on their own real situations, and take part in a live facilitated role play with coaching and debrief, in a group small enough for individual feedback. You'll leave with a compact set of moves to use the same week, the opening lines of a real upcoming conversation already drafted, and a clear sense of when to work a conflict yourself and when another path, such as a referral, a management decision, or coaching, should come first.
