My overall experience was very pleasant. The class content was very helpful. I appreciated all of the exercises. Some of them really challenged me and made me think about my leadership style and areas I could use improvement. Alan was an exceptional instructor. I learned a lot from him and truly enjoyed his teaching style. He is very knowledgeable and had lots of wisdom. Some of the things I appreciated most were the life examples he provided, his willingness to answer all questions, and how he kept the class engaged the entire time. I would recommend all leaders take his course.

Both the External and the Internal Audit units attended this training and it was great working in different assigned groups every day that the Directors of Internal and External set up prior to the training. It gave us a chance to get a better understanding of what the other unit does. This training would be excellent for CTDOT Finance as well as CTDOT program managers for the various Federal Grants for which CTDOT receives funding.

The most valuable aspect of the training was its personalized focus—it was tailored specifically to my current situation, which made it highly relevant and immediately applicable. In the past, I’ve taken training from the Graduate School and other providers, but the material often catered to large agencies like the Department of Defense. This time, however, the instruction was centered on my needs, which made a significant difference.
