Alvin was a great instructor. He was particularly helpful in answering questions that came up for me as he went through his presentation. I really appreciated the various exercises built into his class and the conversations based on those exercises. The CIGIE Quality Standards for Inspections and Evaluations class was informative and well presented. Our agency is now considering using I&E as another resource for our investigative division.
Good class for those experienced and inexperienced. Although somewhat similar, it allows you to see the difference between evaluations, inspections, and audits. The class had a very good explanation about the differences between the Blue Book vs. the Yellow Book. The instructor was very knowledgeable about the topic discussed and understood all the technical difficulties some of us encountered with the use of Zoom.
Instruction was performed at a high level with great examples, context, and technical feedback. Alvin Brown's level of experience in the area of audits and evaluations was exemplary, as evidenced by the quality of the materials and examples and by the efficient and effective way he conducts the course.
This class is definitely needed in today's work environment, where work needs to be done faster and smarter. This class could be beneficial to new and experienced auditors. The knowledge Mr. Brown demonstrated and poured into the class was excellent. The examples and interactions he provided from his experience were unmatched.

I enjoyed the course and was able to learn a lot from an instructor who has great experience in government auditing! The course content really equipped me with the basics in government auditing and gave me a better understanding of the GAGAS yellow book and internal controls in the green book.
This was a great training class. The materials were to the point without useless filler and the instructor was excellent. Stephen gave many great examples of audits he had done throughout his career which helped show how these principles work in practice.

This course excellently laid out the groundwork for data collection methods. The instructor is friendly and knowledgeable. She invites dialogue and has been able to answer every question I have. This has been an overwhelming positive experience. To the extent possible, the teacher tailored the class to my needs, I always felt supported and encouraged. This course was originally scheduled for October, but due to the shutdown, I kept being moved to the next session. The school was very gracious about it, and I cannot articulate my appreciation.
This course was clear, practical, and very well put together. The instructor used helpful case examples and tied them directly to the Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), making the lessons more effective. As a fairly new auditor, it strengthened my working knowledge for performance audits and gave me confidence to apply the standards in my audit work.
The class content was very useful and expanded this auditor's understanding of assessing computer-processed data. The instructor was very knowledgeable about the class topic (assessing the reliability of computer-processed data) and was also enthusiastic about the topic. Despite the small class, he kept us very engaged in the topic and provided examples from his own work to further emphasize the class materials.

Great experience to explore other elements of a finding and hear from others on their different audit experiences pertaining to their audit areas of work. There is never enough to learn about audit, for processes and policies are ever-changing. When it comes to auditing on any level, you will always have to remain consistent to get to the real root cause of any condition, identify the impact, and offer an effective resolution. Right then, forward as always!
