Finally, an instructor who truly knows the subject matter and knows how to teach it. Mr. Bynum is both a highly knowledgeable subject matter expert and an experienced professional in the field, which made this CSRS pre-retirement planning course exceptionally valuable. I have attended several pre-retirement courses in the past where the instructor simply read from the materials or advised participants to direct their questions to a benefits specialist. That approach leaves employees struggling to determine which questions they should even be asking. Mr. Bynum was different. He provided clear, practical guidance, answered specific questions with confidence, and helped us understand what actions we need to take to effectively plan for and process our retirement. I especially appreciated that the course materials were specifically tailored to CSRS employees rather than relying on general retirement information or focusing primarily on FERS. With so few of us remaining in the CSRS system, having an instructor with Mr. Bynum’s depth of knowledge and experience is invaluable. Mr. Bynum was also very mindful of the time and the amount of material that needed to be covered. His expertise allowed the class to remain focused while still giving participants the opportunity to ask detailed questions and receive meaningful answers. He is truly a jewel, and CSRS employees are fortunate to have him guiding us through such an important and complex stage of our careers.
