This hands-on course teaches students how to take a completed script from planning through production and into a professionally executed dialogue scene. Over the course of a full week, students participate in three in-person sessions on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, along with two independent production days on Tuesday and Thursday, during which they complete assignments that are reviewed and discussed in the following class.
Throughout the week, students work through the full production process, including script breakdown, coverage planning, storyboard creation, shot listing, directing performances, and managing core production elements such as camera, lighting, sound, and on-set workflow. By the end of the course, they will have gained practical experience guiding a small-scale shoot from script to post-ready delivery.
