Getting Started with BIM 302: Downloading Data Sets and Setting Up Folders

Setting Up Folders and Downloading Data Sets for BIM 302 Course

Prepare to dive into BIM 302 with the essential starting data set and files you'll need to successfully progress in the course. Learn how to navigate and utilize the Learning Hub, download the BIM 302 start file, and make the most of additional resources like the Revit families and links folders.

Key Insights

  • The course begins with students downloading the starting data set from the Learning Hub, specifically the BIM 302 Start file.
  • Additional resources such as the Revit families and links folders will be added to the initial start file to enhance learning and practical application in BIM 302.
  • The CAD files provided are similar to the ones used in BIM 302, offering students edited versions for better understanding and practice of Revit families.

This lesson is a preview from our Revit Certification Course Online (includes software & exam). Enroll in a course for detailed lessons, live instructor support, and project-based training.

The first thing that we're going to want to do when we start this class is go onto the Learning Hub and download the starting dataset. And just like the other ones before, we have a start file that we're going to use and this is BIM 302 Start. And this file right here is the one that's going to get you started for the next course.

Now what we'll do is we'll actually add a couple of other files to that. And so we have a Revit families folder that I've included that has a few files that we can use. And then we have a links folder here, which is where we'll put all of our Revit links.

And this has a couple of CAD files that we're going to use, which are similar to the ones here. These are just the edited ones. And, like I mentioned before, we also have the Revit families.

And so the first thing we're going to want to do is we're going to want to go ahead and open up this BIM 302 Start file.
