Claude Code 101 is a hands-on introductory workshop that teaches participants how to work with AI coding agents directly from the terminal using Claude Code. Unlike traditional code-completion tools, Claude Code can explore entire codebases, analyze files, run tests, and perform multi-step coding tasks through natural language interaction.

In this instructor-led session, participants learn how to structure productive interactions with an AI coding agent, beginning with the essential workflow habit of planning tasks before execution. The course introduces the use of Plan Mode, effective prompt design, and project-level context management through CLAUDE.md files so that Claude can operate as a reliable development assistant rather than a simple code generator.

Through demonstrations and guided exercises, participants apply Claude Code to real coding scenarios including debugging failing tests, refactoring complex code structures, and implementing new features across multiple files. The workshop also explores practical operational practices such as context management, permission configuration, git safety checkpoints, and session recovery.

By the end of the workshop, participants will understand how to integrate AI coding agents into their development workflow, maintain control over automated changes, and apply agent-based tools to accelerate debugging, refactoring, and feature development while maintaining code quality and safety.
